Hiatus Update

Hello again everyone!

Sorry for my hiatus ( <- fancy word for break ) from posting. I went and had an amazing time with Ashley, Rey, Gloria, and the rest of the crew from William and Mary a couple weeks ago. Then I was working to get ahead again to visit Mari at JMU a week ago. Then last week I was catching up from that. But I'm back! And I wouldn't trade my trips for anything - too much fun!

So - William and Mary - on my way I stopped at UVA to pick up Pooja. Long, long, long drive there - and guess what I did? Forgot Ashley's birthday present at Tech in my safe :( . Still - all in all an excellent weekend :) . Friday I got to meet Rey's roommate and then Rey and Gloria tried to make me exercise (yuck) by running (YUCK) all over Williamsburg. Luckily after just a few stops along their Midnight Madness Ashley returned from Busch Gardens. So I bailed back to their dorm and hung out with Ashley, Isaac, and Ashley's roommate. We went to wawa to get ice cream, then watched Pixar shorts before Ashley kicked me out so she could go to bed. I went to rejoin Rey, Gloria, and team who were waiting around to see if they'd won their Midnight Madness. They were done first, but based on total time - they didn't win shit. Except for Gloria - who quite literally did - she won an Elephant Poo book in the raffle. Saturday brought with it eating at one of their dining halls (sorry guys - both Tech and JMU beat you out for food) and a trip to Target (I'm the one with the car). I got to see some of the Monroe projects that were done over the last year. Ashley, Rey, and I got to play some frisbee. Then I went to dinner at the AMAZING place called the Cheese Shop with Rey, Gloria, and Will. I had a wonderful ham sandwich. This makes up for the dining on campus. We ran around for a bit, then headed back to the dorm. Rey and I met back up with Ashley and Isaac to watch the rest of the Pixar shorts. Then we went up to the attic to play ping pong for a while. Slightly surprisingly - Ashley didn't kill anyone with the ball :P . Isaac and I actually got playing with 2 balls down pretty well. Then unfortunately it was time to call it a night. Sunday morning Ashley and Rey to me to another great restaurant - Aroma's. One tasty breakfast burrito later and I was back on the road home.

A week to do some work and.... JMU. Well not entirely. It was fall break (1 lousy Friday of it) so I headed up Thursday. It was adventurous trying to find Radford to pick up Matt, but we made it. Mari and crew (Allie, Zac, etc) had bought tickets for us to go to the Third Eye Blind concert. I'd never heard of them, but I had heard one of their songs (Jumper). It was a good concert - but I didn't realize we were going to be standing up for all of it. So afterwards I was exhausted. Friday, while Mari went to class, I met up with Erica and Jimmy. Now one might ask - why drive 2 hours to meet up with someone who lives in my own dorm? One would not receive a good answer. Anyway - it was fun to catch up. Then I loaded up and brought Mari back to Tech. Then Saturday I fed her at Owens, took her for the tour, and showed her all the crazy alumni who came to tailgate for the homecoming game (in which we SLAUGHTERED). I treated her to West End for dinner. Then Sunday we completed the trio of dining halls with brunch at D2. Who can say no to a waffle which has VT imprinted on it?

As far as classes - things have been going pretty well. Nothing super exciting though.

Well I've had my quiet weekend here at Tech by myself. So next weekend I'm taking a whole crew of people back home. Time to visit the parents, the girlfriend's parents, and the DOG. And I'll get to catch up with Eric on the way up and back. It should be fun, but for now its back to getting ahead on homework.

I hope you all still read - even though I've been gone for a while!

That's so cool that you went to visit everyone at William & Mary. It really sucks that Pitt is so far away and they are so stingy with the days off. That is the one thing I hate about being in a different state while pretty much everyone I knew is still in VA.

Hopefully, since I will end school earlier in May than you guys, I can stop by and visit (unless you guys are too busy with finals...I think I'm worth it, though :) )

We also need to talk about Thanksgiving/winter break at some point. I would love to see some of you guys then.

Hi - I'm Phillip and this is my place to talk about whatever it is that crosses my mind. I'm a geek, and proud of it. I'm also into woodworking, especially boxes. I'm now a junior at Virginia Tech.
